There's a place for people who laugh at nothing...

Killing two birds with one stone here, since I didn't report on my progress yesterday.

Have not had a good couple of days. Managed to get very little done in the way of decrapulation on Tuesday, though I did manage to wash the floor in here on Monday, so I was a bit ahead of the game. Blew off the morning pages this morning, for reasons best left unsaid; I will have to make them up tomorrow morning. In my defense, according to Julia, the MPs are to be done upon getting up, which is damn near impossible in a house with 20 cats who poke you with claws in the early AM to wake you up so that you will feed them. But, that's really no excuse; there's no reason I couldn't have done all of that, gone on to the MPs while coffee was brewing, then done everything else that I did. As I said, I'll do six pages tomorrow as my penance. (I haven't used that word in years, which shows how long it's been since receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.)

When I finish this, I will shut off the computer and go downstairs and watch some TV with Mary. "Bones" is on tonight (I think it's the season premiere) and there's a rerun of "CSI: NY" after that.

I have decided on a rather aggressive writing project that I will begin tomorrow. I will tell you more about it tomorrow.

Sayonara! See you tomorrow....

I hear your problems on the "doing MP the very first thing." I don't have a cat herd, but I do have two dogs, and they want out and fed as soon as anyone wakes up. Then in their doggieness, they wake up the kid. And he wants food and attension. The only one who doesn't get up when I "get up early to do MP, or writing, or have some time to myself" is my dh. So it really means more work and I might as well sleep some more.

I've decided to give myself a break and do them as close to when I get up as possible or practical. I understand what Julia is suggesting, that the MPs are intended as an early morning brain dump rather than something carefully thought out, but I'd have to practically take a notebook to bed to write them when I first wake up, because my mind is already going 70 MPH when I wake up. Yes, I think a little about how I'm going to start, but after that, I can go just about anywhere with it. So the spirit is there, even if I'm not following the rules. In fact, one of the things I'm trying to get away from is being so damn rigid about following the rules, which I see as simply a way to avoid getting anything done. So in that regard, I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to do.
