An excellent article from the Boston Herald's Jules Crittenden. I particularly liked the last paragraph:

John Kerry says he’s sorry he botched his joke about Iraq, and now he has apologized to anyone who was offended. He meant to make fun of the president of the United States, not the soldiers. It wasn’t very funny that way, either. The wags have already noted that Bush in fact performed better than Kerry at Yale. None of this would be more than a momentary embarrassment. But the botched joke we’re stuck with in Massachusetts, and the nation as a whole, is a backbencher’s lackluster career, which has been elevated far beyond his worth. And his failure to recognize that he is irrelevant on the national stage.

Kerry can't even tell a stupid joke right and we're supposed to believe that Bush is the stupid one?

The left has been portraying Bush as some kind of an idiot who is a front for Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld, but the fact is that he's no dummy. He has a Harvard MBA and was very successful in business before going into politics, and he's made excellent choices in the people with whom he's surrounded himself. (No less a man than Madeleine Albright's father, Professor Korbel, felt that Condoleezza Rice was the best student he'd ever had. Yet the left consistently portrays her as some kind of Aunt Jemima while insisting that Maddie, who is responsible for most of the screwups that will come back to bite this nation in the future, was the best secretary of state this nation ever had.)

The left and their lap dogs in the mainstream media and the academic community are convinced that they're smarter than anyone who isn't in lockstep with their agenda and beliefs, and are proven wrong time and time again.

IMHO, it takes the smartest people to learn that everyone benefits when they surround themselves with even smarter people. And anyone who thinks Condi is an Aunt Jemima needs to get off the racist bandwagon and listen to her for half a second. (Yeah, I'm in love with Condi Rice. If she'll run for president, I'll bear her children.)

If she runs, I'm voting for her, no question. She's fantastic. It'd be fun just to see the Democrats go into a panic trying to keep the black vote from going to her.

My response to hearing of Barak Obama's possible running was that we definitely need Condi to run. Dems may have a woman or an African American, but Reps have an African American woman and well... there goes the rich white male stereotype.
