There are many complicated answers to simple problems, but often one very simple answer. Rhymes With Right gives us two solutions to a simple problem, one complicated, one quite simple.

You know, he also compares two reactions to a natural disaster. This guy's good.

It's also interesting to compare the recovery from natural disasters in Florida, and even in Mississippi, v.s. Louisianna. Now who would ever have thought that tolerating dysfunctional local government has its costs?

That's just it. I've been here in Georgia for going on 20 years, and there are natural disasters here all the time, with homes destroyed, people killed, and all kinds of mayhem, and people just pick up after themselves and move on. Everywhere else in this country--even in California--no one sits around wondering what the government's response is going to be. They do the best they can and eventually get things back to normal on their own.

I've met hundreds of people who left New Orleans after the hurricane and moved to Georgia. They decided that New Orleans was a lost cause and that it was time to find somewhere new to live. No whining, no wondering where the government was, just "God's telling me to move on". As far as I can tell, the only people that are upset about New Orleans are the people who are accustomed to sitting around and waiting for the government to take care of them and the limo lefties who hate George W. Bush for breathing their air.

There. I've said it.
