Bought a new laptop today in anticipation of consulting opportunities. It's a WinBook with a 1.7 GHz Centrino processor, 60GB hard drive, 512K RAM, built-in WiFi. What I liked the most is that it was a barebones system, nothing on it but WinXP, Plus!, Norton Antivirus and the software to make the DVD-ROM/CD-RW work, and I'm having them install Office. None of this spending hours with CleanSweep throwing away the things that I have no use for (AOL, dialup Internet access) or things that I'd just as soon install myself as needed (Real, iTunes, etc.). I like that.
