Micro Center installed a version of Office on this new laptop that I have (that I need for this consulting work I'm doing) that didn't include Powerpoint (which, needless to say, I also need for the consulting gig).
So, I go back this evening and ask for the OEM version of Office that includes Powerpoint. They say that they can't give me that, but they sell me an upgrade version of Office that they claim will install Powerpoint for me.
So, I goes home and tries to install it...and it won't install. I get on the horn with Microsoft. Needless to say, they tell me that I can't install an upgrade to Office 2003 Standard over Office 2003 Basic, no matter how hard I try.
The upshot is that I'm going to buy a full install of Powerpoint ELSEWHERE tomorrow and write all of this BS off on my taxes...
PS If anyone needs an Office 2003 Standard Upgrade (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) for Windows, let me know at johlt at comcast dot net. You can have it.
