I'm just so totally geeked...

As I've told you all, I'm a bit of a television nut. I love the stories of the early days of television and, believe me, there's plenty of stuff out on the Internet about it. In particular, there's a lot of material from British television. Anyway, I found this website that has Flash formatted files that duplicate the between-program clocks that the BBC and other independent television networks used to show. Some of them are even formatted to be used as screen savers. I'm using this one currently, because I like the colors.

Now, I stumbled on this because of the experience that I had this past week with a projector that was attached to my laptop. Try as I might, I couldn't get the colors right, nor could I get the thing centered properly. So, I Googled "indian head test card" to see if I could find a full-size version of what I'm using as my icon, and, lo and behold, I found this software, which includes numerous monitor tests, a tone generator, and all of the old test patterns, including the Indian head and SMPTE color bars. I gotta tell ya, I'm having a blast with it. If you do any sort of work with video, it's a definite must-have. If you love television, it's a definite must-have.

I know, I'm crazy...
