A rainy night in Georgia

Such a rainy night in Georgia...I feel like it's rainin' all over the world. Ahh, Brook Benton. I think that was a big hit back when I was in grammar school.

Mary's recovering well from whatever it was that has had her flat on her back most of the last week or so. She's been sleeping a lot, but we did get out for dinner this evening, so I'm relieved. She's not quite 100 percent, but getting there.

Had a very productive work day. Deleting solitaire means that I'm getting a lot more done, and not quite as moody, for some reason. Maybe it was just a nervous habit that I got myself into, like washing one's hands too much. I still have some things that I need to get done, that I thought would get done today, but there's always tomorrow.

My dear friend draiguisge has something going on her journal where she's doing a painting every day for a year. I think it's a great idea, and I'm going to follow in her footsteps and try to write a story every day for a year, even if it's crappy or really short or whatever. I may post some of the better ones here (and yes, I read up on the lj cut commands this evening!) for everyone's approbation. I presented the idea to my writers' group this evening and they thought it was a valiant effort, too. Maybe they'll join me.

Not much more to say. The Braves lost tonight. Oh well, can't win them all.
