I love user conferences

I'm achy from all of the standing I've done in the last 36 hours, I'm being made to feel like I'm sticking my foot in my mouth every time I talk to a customer, my session today didn't go well at all, and I don't give a flying flip. I'm not going to let any of it bother me any more than it already has. I don't have to get up in front of potentially hostile audiences tomorrow, we're off to the Museum of Science and Industry tomorrow evening for dinner and entertainment (they're being cagey about who the entertainment is; have they managed to snag Buddy Guy?) and I'm on my way home on Wednesday afternoon. So, screw everyone; I'm going to enjoy the rest of the conference.

I'm really looking forward to going to the museum tomorrow night. I thought that it was the coolest place on earth when I was younger, and I haven't been back since I was in seventh grade (that would be 36 years, if my math is right). I'm sure that a lot of it has changed. For example, I'm sure that the Bell System's "Land of Tomorrow" has been seriously overhauled. Unfortunately, the U-505, the German submarine that's been on display since the end of World War II, is in drydock being restored. No matter; I'm going to have a good time. Tony's story will have to wait. Sorry!
