I got a call yesterday from one of the agencies that I work with. A company is looking for people to facilitate meetings for the next few weeks, which is something that I'm interested in doing. I have to tailor my resume to the task of being a facilitator, and focus on my facilitating (rather than instructing) skills. I'm a little out of my comfort zone here, but I'm sure that it's something that I can do. Perhaps I can find a way to incorporate Edward DeBono's "Six Thinking Hats" techniques to the task.

Got to get the job first. Watch this space for further updates.

Promised anderyn that I'd post this in my journal in exchange:

1. Reply to this post if you want me to tell you how cool you are!

2. Watch my journal over the next few days for a post just about you and why you rock my socks.

3. Post these instructions in your journal and give your friends a much needed dose of love and adoration!

Just because it looked so funny on anahata56's journal, among others:

I remember once describing Gene Hackman, who's been in hundreds of excellent movies, as "the guy who played Lex Luthor in Superman". My brother got a huge kick out of that. Of course, he also came up with the idea of a section at Blockbuster Video called "The JOHN Section", where all of the particularly weird movies and other crap on VHS and DVD that would appeal to my bizarre tastes was kept.

Got my resume finished and sent off. I was going to go to lunch with some of my old workmates, but it's raining pretty badly here and I don't think that people in Atlanta can drive very well when it's raining. Hell, they have a hard enough time driving when it's sunny and dry. Besides, I have this whole facilitation thing on my mind right now. Maybe I'll talk Mary into going to lunch, then to Borders so that I can look at facilitation books.

Guess I'll have to shower first, of course.

Mary and I went out to Borders so that I could look at books on facilitation, and while none of the ones that they list on their website were actually in the store, I did have some fun browsing through the management books.

We had lunch at Houlihan's and coffee at Starbucks. Starbucks was freezing. It was actually warmer outside.

Off to writers' group tonight. I get to provide the exercise.

Bravo TV is doing a show on The 100 Greatest TV Characters. Of course, it's just their opinion, but they came up with a pretty good list. They took a few liberties to get it down to 100, of course, and I guess it was inevitable that Martin Sheen's character on The Left...I'm sorry...The West Wing had to be one of them. There were a couple that I had never heard of (#96, "Artie", and #88, "Jamie Somers") and couldn't verify in IMDb; any idea who they might have been?

I'm sure that I'll be coming up with my own list, eventually...

Off to make dinner...see ya later...
