I'm back!

First of all, thanks to Mary Cecelia O'Brian, who has been writing the journal most of the week, and thanks to all of you for being so cordial.

We have horrible weather here in Atlanta. Rain from the Gulf is meeting cold air from up north and we're getting freezing rain and sleet. Earlier this week, it was in the 60s. Today, we'll be lucky if it gets up over freezing. The weather gets better during the week, though, with more seasonable temperatures.

Earlier in the week, when the weather was nice, Mary and I had a whole bunch of new trees planted. I hope that the bad weather doesn't do anything to them. They're looking pretty weighed down with ice right about now. The birds love them...I've seen more birds in the yard than I've ever seen, even when we had all the pines back there. Of course, we have a couple of feeders on the deck, and in the yard, and the birds are coming to feed. The cats are going crazy, watching all of the "boodies" from the windows.

I have tons of stuff to do in the next couple of days. I've got to catch up with some things going on over at Ghostletters (including a story that I'm more or less co-writing with someone...feels like I'm doing most of the writing), I have a logline to update and a leavebehind to write for my teleclass on Tuesday (the first one went really well), I have a 400+ slide Powerpoint that I have to digest by Monday, things to prepare for Tuesday when, allegedly, my writers' group gets together (that is, if the woman who runs it doesn't decide at the last minute to cancel), and I really don't want to spend all of my time in front of the computer. And, of course, there's the usual scoop the litter boxes, make dinner, make coffee, watch movies, watch the tape of Mystery Woman from last night, watch the boodies out the window.

You know, I'm finding that the more I work on the computer, the less I really want to work on the computer. Does anyone else ever get to the point where they feel like they're getting edgy, and cranky, and looking for an excuse to get away from it all for a while? I normally do that by going to Starbucks and writing in a notebook. Maybe I should do that here at the house as well.

Anyhow, I'd better get to it. Maybe I'll take a shower.
