Spent the last ten hours en route to beautiful Beaverton, Oregon. The box that I had my training manuals in was torn to shit by the TSApes in Atlanta, but everything's still in there. Remember when the airlines used to have boxes for you to put your luggage and other stuff in? Not any more.

Was ordered to remove my shoes and send them through the x-ray machine, despite the fact that there's no metal in them. This is a big deal for me, because I need someplace to sit down and put them back on afterwards, and there really isn't anywhere in Atlanta to do that. The Federal officer who delivered the order told me that he didn't make the rules, he just enforced them. I mumbled something about Eichmann and Nuremburg and found someplace to put my shoes back on.

Didn't we fight a revolution about this sort of governmental abuse a few years ago?
