A correction to this entry, which was a picture of me and my dad at a cousin's christening. Turns out that the cousin is not the one I thought it was, but is in fact my goddaughter (yes, I was ten when I became her godfather), who is now expecting a child in a couple of months.

The other weird thing about this picture is that it's inside out. My uncle must have flipped the negative when he digitized it. I flipped it back, but you know, I like it better this way, for some reason.

I thought this from Basil's Blog was a good commentary on radio stations and formats. My conclusion is that radio stations are so desperate to draw an audience, particularly in the face of the iPod and satellite radio, that they'll play just about anything to get people to listen. This is why "smooth jazz" stations will play Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder alongside Boney James and Kenny G, and why you'll hear Boney James and Kenny G on the "light rock" stations.

I've set up a feed for Basil's Blog called basilsblog2, in case you're interested. Not that I think many of you are...
