Day By Day is a takeoff on the "Hi, I'm a Mac..." commercials. And a particularly good takeoff, featuring Damon and Jan.

I'm sorry to hear that Molly Ivins is back in the hospital. I agree with Rhymes With Right: "I find her positions wrong-headed and hateful, and her prose lacking in elegance. I don't even like her accent. But I would hate to see her voiced silenced at what is a relatively young age." I lost an aunt to breast cancer. It ain't fun. Get well, Molly.

Missed this one: Windows Hell - The Worst is Over. Part of the reason I bought a Mac this time around. Of course, I still use Windows for work, and still have several laptops here that run it. Still, who hasn't undergone this sort of fun and games when installing software? Kind of like what I talked about a couple of days ago.

For you gearheads: I did install JBoss, and couldn't run it because TCP/IP port 8080 was already claimed by Oracle, which, incidentally, would have interfered with my running my application that requires Apache to operate. So, now I have to mediate and figure out which application is going to get 8080 and which ones are going to have to be changed. Meaning, of course, that I'm going to have to find the correct configuration files for the others...I'm beginning to pine for the days of Hollerith cards...
