Monday morning

I spent the weekend unable to use the computer because a certain half-Siamese cat decided to knock the keyboard off the table, and it broke. So, I had to get a new keyboard yesterday, and since we spent the day reading at Starbucks and I came home and watched the ball game (Braves lost to the Angels despite an excellent complete game by Jorge Campillo) I didn't set it up until this morning. This one is nice, albeit set up for Vista, but it is wireless and came with a mouse, so I replaced both. Lucy is aware that Daddy's not happy and has been avoiding the office.

Speaking of which, a belated Happy Father's Day to all.

I'm sure that everyone knows that Tim Russert of NBC News passed away rather suddenly last week. I never watched "Meet The Press", so I really can't say he was a great interviewer with any great confidence, but I do remember a show he did where he interviewed Yogi Berra, Carlton Fisk, Tim McCarver and Gary Carter, four of baseball's greatest catchers. It was one of the most enjoyable hours I've spent, and Russert looked like he had a great time. If they do a tribute to him, that should be a part of it. Collapse )

Well, this is interesting...

I get my new headphones today, put the batteries in, plug them into the iPod, and get the static noise again. So, I do some research, and discover that it might be picking up cellular noise from the BlackBerry.

I put the BlackBerry in my pocket. It had been on the table beside the iPod. As it had been every time the static buzzy Emergency Alert System noise had come through the headphones.

Problem solved.

Interview time!

azbound had this meme on her LJ:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.

So I said, "Interview me!"
