There's a place for people who laugh at nothing...

Spent the last ten hours en route to beautiful Beaverton, Oregon. The box that I had my training manuals in was torn to shit by the TSApes in Atlanta, but everything's still in there. Remember when the airlines used to have boxes for you to put your luggage and other stuff in? Not any more.

Was ordered to remove my shoes and send them through the x-ray machine, despite the fact that there's no metal in them. This is a big deal for me, because I need someplace to sit down and put them back on afterwards, and there really isn't anywhere in Atlanta to do that. The Federal officer who delivered the order told me that he didn't make the rules, he just enforced them. I mumbled something about Eichmann and Nuremburg and found someplace to put my shoes back on.

Didn't we fight a revolution about this sort of governmental abuse a few years ago?

Yeah...you did, you lost, the asshats won.
or do you mean the one where you kicked us british out...

Hmm lets see, Bush or Blair? Whom do you think got the better deal out of that one? [actually, personally I can't stand either of them, but for different reasons.]

I mean the one where we threw you British out. The one we're celebrating today.

As far as governmental abuse, it actually started in 1933 with the election of FDR, a friend of Stalin and an admirer of Hitler.

They do now, apparently, when your soles are sufficiently thick. Mine could be considered sneakers, and I know for a fact there's no metal in them.
