I spent the day running around, getting the required fingerprints and leaving the required sample of my you-know-what for a drug test. All this so that I can build the training materials for a government agency (which, in my opinion, should have been made a private company a long time ago, but that's another discussion for another time) so that I can conduct several training sessions there in the very near future. I suppose that I shouldn't complain, but, let's face it, I like to complain sometimes. Of course, all of the time I was running around today deprived me of a day when I could have been reviewing my materials for my class next week--600+ pages of training materials that I didn't put together and that has to be gone through, a page at a time, to ensure that my students won't find it confusing, incorrect or otherwise make them feel bad. I didn't even get said materials until yesterday.
We did finally figure out the problem with one of our servers. I had stopped by the office to drop off my expense report and was hijacked by the other contract trainer, who was trying to get a server to work that had failed on me a month ago and that I had not been able to fix. Between the two of us we managed to get it to work. I'm happy to say that I provided a good deal of the technical firepower. In other words, I still got it.
Anyway, everything else is going fine. We're back to normal, whatever that is, after losing Angus. I just feel badly that I don't have a picture of him.
