Chief Jack's Galley

There's a place for people who laugh at nothing...

OK, a little promotion for this mailing list that I've been running for most of the last eight years, Ghostletters....

Many of you are already subscribed to Ghostletters, or GL, as many like to call it. For those of you who are (anderyn and micklpickl, I'm looking in your various directions), but have either not yet checked your mail or who have not yet gotten around to subscribing, you might be interested to know that we have moved from Topica to Yahoo! Groups this past week and I will be terminating the Topica version of the list on October 1.

Now, as for the rest of you, who have heard me talk about the Spiritual Telegraph but not yet experienced it in full...Ghostletters is, as we say on the soon to be outdated home page, an exercise in collaborative fiction. That is, everyone who participates in it writes in character, normally of one's own choosing, although many have participated as people from history or from other works of fiction. This journal, Chief Jack's Galley, is named after the restaurant of one of the original characters, my very own Jack O'Brian, CSSC, USN Ret. His daughter, Mary Cecelia, took over this journal for a week last March, and I don't think she's ever gotten over it. Anyway, if you're interested, click on the button below, and you too can be a part of the madness...

Did you subscribe recently? Because some of the people have been having a party and there's been a lot of mail. With Yahoo, you can choose a digest or even to receive the messages online only. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.

Yeah, about a month or so ago. I stayed about three weeks, then it got to be way too much email. That's one of the things I like about Yahoo groups - you can set them up to read the mail at your convenience.

Yeah ... those parties tend to get a bit out of hand ... (-:

But it would be nice once the party ends to have some new blood (did I really type that?) around.
