Your Hair Should Be White

Classy, stylish, and eloquent.
You've got a way about you that floors everyone you meet.

I'm almost there already.

You know, I have the girth to play Santa Claus. I just can't grow a beard to save my life. I have a friend who decided to use his remarkable resemblance to the Jolly Old Elf to make a living for himself and his wife (he runs a Christmas shop here in Marietta). Another friend of mine, who at the time looked exactly like everyone's image of Santa (big rosy cheeks, full white head of hair and beard, twinkling eyes, big belly) once looked into the possibility of playing Santa at one of the malls, and discovered that he could make more money doing that for three months out of the year than he was making as a support analyst for my old company. Not sure exactly what that says about the job of Santa (or my old company), but there ya go.

Whoa...!
Maybe I should look into that. A years worth of salery for 3 months of work, can't be a bad deal.

My friend had heard the same thing about playing Santa. It was, in fact, the reason he didn't do it.

As you've noticed, there's plenty of work out there to be had, if you're willing to beat the bushes a little bit. I found this job through networking; just on a hunch, someone sent me an email from the guy who's my client contact, and the rest, as they say, is history. You hear a lot of talk out there about how it's so hard for anyone over 45 to find a job, and yet, if you're willing to work on a contract basis, there's loads. Any reason that you couldn't e-work for these companies, transferring your work to their servers from wherever you are?
