Got quiet at Wrigley Field last night!

Eight runs in the top of the eighth will do that.

This is one day where I'm glad I no longer live in Chicago: regardless of what happens, the city's going to go crazy, by which I mean nasty and destructive. Watch this space tomorrow for all of the details...

You know, when the Cubs beat the Braves a week or so ago, I got all kinds of phone calls from people that I knew right after the game, either ignorant of the fact that it was close to midnight here in Atlanta, or figuring that I'd probably be up. I was, but Mary wasn't, and we have a rule in our house that says that the only acceptable reasons for calling after 9 PM are: someone's dead or death is imminent, or some major catastrophe has happened in someone's life (e.g. child gone missing, house on fire). Note that gloating over the results of a baseball game was not on that list. If the Marlins win tonight, I may return the favors.

My DSL has been acting up a lot lately. It seems like any time the wind blows it knocks it out. Go figure that out, if you can.
