Found this article and thought you might find it interesting. I think we might want to alter our perceptions of the American economy, based on these definitions.

Thanks for the link to the outsourcing article. Another American advantage Boudreaux might have mentioned is our labor mobility, as compared to the Europeans' fondness for guaranteed lifetime employment.

That outsourcing demagoguery seems to have lost some of its punch in recent months. Remember John Kerry intoning in his Senatespeak "When I travel around America, and see the wreckage of the Bush economy...."? Meanwhile we've created something like 5 million new American jobs and driven the unemployment rate to 4.7%. You don't hear much reference to that "wreckage" anymore, but I guess there are still people preaching on the outsourcing theme.

Let's face it: it's racism, pure and simple. Don't let the spics come over the border and take "your" jobs, don't let them outsource "your" job to the ghandus, etc. Democrats have learned to play the race card with alacrity, appealing to the urban whites with this kind of crap, then they have the unmitigated gall to call anyone who doesn't agree with their welfare-state Robin Hood politics a fascist. I'd find it funny if it weren't so damn pathetic and disturbing.
