I've got Mindi Abair on the iPod, all three of her albums on shuffle. I've decided that she's who I listen to when I'm in a foul mood. She and Joyce Cooling. Maybe the two of them could be coaxed into doing an album together.
I found an interesting book at the library yesterday, called A friendship : the letters of Dan Rowan and John D. MacDonald, 1967-1974. It's 300 pages worth of correspondence between the mustachioed half of Rowan and Martin and the author of the Travis McGee books, right as both of them were becoming popular. One doesn't generally think that a comic and an author have much in common, much less the basis for a friendship, but evidently they were quite good friends for a while, becoming estranged in 1974 and finally finding one another again in the 1980s. I guess I was curious as to what they would talk about with one another. Something that I thought was even more interesting was that, as I thumb through it, it appears never to have been read. Can you imagine that? A book, sitting on the shelf of a library for over 10 years, and no one took it out? I'll let you all know how it is. I'm not sure that it's still in print. Can't have been much of a bestseller.
Everyone in here, except for me it seems, is studying for finals. There's a group over to my right that's studying anatomy, there are two people beside me who appear to be busy writing a report of some sort, there's a bible study group in front of me, etc.
Anyway, it's been a semi-productive day here. I have a ton of work to get done eventually, but not tonight, fortunately, because I'm getting pretty close to wiped out.
Talk to you all tomorrow.
