Chief Jack's Galley

There's a place for people who laugh at nothing...

Went to the doctor today, and I'm down to 314, which is a few pounds lighter than the last time I was there. She said I'm losing about 2 lbs a week now, which is a good, healthy rate. It also means that by next Memorial Day I should be down to close to my target weight, if I continue to eat right and get some exercise. She said my blood pressure was up a little; it's probably due to all of the sitting around that I've been doing. I know I need to get out and walk more, but it's just so hot and humid this time of the year.

Editing goes well on the story I've been working on for a few weeks now. I'm going to bring it with me tonight when I take Mary to class, then go to the Borders Cafe to kill some time. Maybe I'll finish my rewrite and get it posted someplace soon. I feel the need to work on another story, too, but I'm not sure what it is just yet.

Anyway, I've just gotten my five minute warning. Talk to you all later.

What do you mean "...IF I continue to eat right..." You know you're going to stick with it!

Yes, it is hot and humid these days. But I think one can get used to exercising in the heat so that it is no longer uncomfortable. Heat still drains your energy, but it doesn't feel bad if you're used to it.
