I did mention to her that I feel as though I'm hitting the wall, and asked for her advice on a counselor. Her answer was to suggest that maybe going back through my psychological history and dragging up all of the mierda from the past might not be the most productive use of my time, and that maybe it was time to just let the past fester in the past and move on from there. She recommended a couple of books, one on EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (she had a copy of it and let me glance through it, although I had to give it back). I had been reading about EMDR in a book on writing that I've been using, which I talked about a couple of weeks ago (you remember the discussion on handedness?), and I've been very interested in trying it. The other book she recommended was The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. She also pointed me in the direction of the Center for Neuroacoustic Research (http://neuroacoustic.com), which has a number of CD's available similar to the subliminal CD's I've used from Brain Sync. She said that one in particular was a real mind-blowing experience. Might be worth a listen...
Yeah, I know, a couple of years ago I would have dismissed all of this as a lot of New Age crap, and maybe it is, but so far she's got me thinking that maybe I can get myself straightened out, and so far everything else she's suggested has worked, so I'm not going to argue with her. I'm taking the attitude that I'm going to do it for a while and see if it works. If not, I'll find something that does. So far, it has worked.
Oh yeah...the other piece of news on that score was that she married her office manager. I thought that was pretty cool.
I get to lead a brief segment of a two-day meeting tomorrow, kind of the technical update. I'm actually looking forward to it. Later, all.
