It's been raining for hours here. It started about 7 last night and has let up for the first time since then.

I have a bundle of stuff to do today, mostly because I did next to nothing yesterday, at least not that I can bill to my client. So, I'm spending the day today making up for it. Just needed a break to let you know I was still here.

I made signs for my office on Monday, reminders of the promises I'm making to myself. One of them is a printout of "Ithaca", which I posted here a few weeks ago. Another is a list of The Four Agreements:

I will be impeccable with my word.
I will not take anything personally.
I will not make assumptions.
I will always do my best.

If you've never read don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements, it's a wonderful book. Much of what he says sounds like What the Bleep, that we need to change our internal reality, the one we've built through years of "domestication".

I also made a couple of other signs. One says, "I can do this!". Another reminds me "The future I want is mine for the taking. It is my right!" And the third reminds me, "I have better things to do."

Like right now.

You know, this LiveJournal thing is wonderful and gives me the chance to meet new people and to stay in touch with the ones that I've known for years, but it can become an incredible time waster if I let it. And I'm afraid that I'm letting it do that now. So have a good life until I see you again.
