Yesterday, Mary and I went to the store, came out and tried to start the van. It wouldn't start. Sounded to AAA like it was the battery. So, they sent someone to the parking lot of the Publix to get us started. It turns out that the battery was the original, which is about 4 years old, so it was time for a new one. And, as luck would have it, there was a service center right across the street from the grocery store, so an hour or so later, we had a new battery.
I didn't sleep worth a damn last night, so I've been going through the day feeling like the living dead. Add to this the fact that, at lunch time, I get a call from the client, dumping a whole bunch of new work on me. Now, don't get me wrong, I get paid according to how much I do, but it was like, every time I made a suggestion, it would get shot down. Eventually, though, they came around to my way of doing things (which, given that's why I'm there, is a good thing) and I have plenty to do.
I've been spending my working hours trying to figure out how to make IIS work in an Apache environment. I'm getting the website to come up just fine; the problem is, anywhere besides on the server itself, I can't get any of the images to load. It's enough to drive me nuts, particularly since I know that I probably screwed up something very simple and I just don't know where to look. I did get it to where the site developers can upload their own work (although, given the people I'm working with, I'll probably end up doing a lot of the upload work for them), so I know I'm on the right track.
Anyway, I'm in the midst of downloading a huge archive of training materials to my laptop, so I'm going to get out of here now and do the litter boxes and watch TV. Wednesday is a great TV night.
