Not much new at this end. Toby's in the animal hospital with bad teeth, several of which need to come out. His surgery is tomorrow. He was going around the house with his tongue hanging out and drooling all weekend. I hope he's OK; he's lived without an eye for six years or so, so I'm not too concerned. But he's my little guy, so I worry.

We went to a memorial service yesterday for the son of friends of ours. He committed suicide some time last week, and they were quite understandably broken up about it. I don't know them too well, but they came and saw me in the hospital, and the wife is knitting buddies with Mary, and, well, it's what you do for people. The minister said that, when you come right down to it, we just have God and one another. It's true. I'm glad we were there for them.

This typing with one hand really sucks.

If you're looking for a couple of reading suggestions, try JA Konrath and Robert Crais. I've been reading their books a lot lately.

Anyway, time to clear out of here.

Let us know how Toby is. Our dogs are our fir-kids, so I know how important animals are.

A coworker of mine had a son commit suicide a few months ago. The boy was only 24. It is just awful and I don't know how parents go on.

Thanks for the book suggestions. I'm so sorry you are still typing with one hand.

please let us know how Toby does. Goodness, it's tough when our firkids are in the hospital!
