Followup and fun with Lucy @ 02:17 pm

Current Location: 30062

First, a followup to the last post: Here is an article about "Le Petomane", who no doubt inspired Mr. Methane.

I woke up this morning at about 6:30 and had to go to the bathroom. I tossed the covers off to my left side, not realizing that Lucy (see icon) was lying there. She immediately began to cry, so I tried to get her out, not realizing that she was trying just as hard to get out on her own. Needless to say, she got even more tangled up, and began to wail as only a Siamese can (OK, she's only half Siamese, but we got the noisy half) as I tried desperately to get her out. Of course, I woke Mary, who came upstairs demanding to know what I was doing to Lucy as Lucy finally extricated herself and ran away, hissing over her shoulder as she left. Mary helped me get the covers back on the bed, by which time the other 19 arrived, apparently thinking there was food...

We had a tonkinese kitty for awhile, she had the Siamese 'voice'.

She was a sweetie. I actually can think of nothing more fun than 20 cats in a house...but what a LOT of work!

From what I've read, Tonkinese were bred from Siamese and Burmese cats. That would explain the voice. We have a second half-Siamese, Amy, and she's also very noisy.

It is a lot of work, and unfortunately Mary has ended up with it while I continue to recover. I'm getting pretty good at feeding them, but I'm afraid that if I got on the floor to scoop litter boxes it'll take several people to get me back up. But I'm getting there.
