Monday afternoon

We celebrated the Festival of Mary's birthday over the weekend, which featured lunch at Red Lobster and a stop at SAS Shoes for her on Friday, lunch at Chili's and "Nim's Island" (I gave it 2 1/2 of 4 stars, which I thought was generous; Mary gave it a 3 out of 4, I think because Gerard Butler was in it) yesterday, and, of course, cake. My aunt Jill called to remind me that today is my mother's anniversary (eight years since she died); April 21 is now known to my aunts as The Day Bunny Died, with Mary's birthday on April 20 forgotten. Which isn't fair, but hey, life ain't fair. The cake was a tuxedo cake, with layers of marble cake between layers of chocolate and vanilla pudding. Yum!

Working has been like pushing a rope up the street. It's too nice to work, and the work itself doesn't interest me any more. I know, you don't want to hear about it. I gotta get outta the house, pure and simple.

I'm trying Thunderbird for my mail client. So far, I like it. I also decided to spend the $20 a year it costs to upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus, so I can pick it up in my mail client.

Dinner's ready. Talk to you later.
