Interview time!

azbound had this meme on her LJ:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.

So I said, "Interview me!"

1. Do you ever justify the amount of cats you have? And if not, did you ever and when did you stop?

I've never felt the need to justify the number of cats that I have. The people who demand an explanation (e.g. my mother, who demanded an explanation for EVERYTHING) either hate cats or like dogs better, or are just nosy.

2. How are you feeling?

OK. The usual aches and pains associated with being in my 50s and having survived a stroke. I'm doing a lot better than I was a year ago, though not where I want to be physically.

3. Even though I describe myself as a liberal ;-) , want to go for coffee when I'm next back in Atlanta?

As long as it's near me and Mary can come. Politics don't enter into it.

4. How do you feel you've approached things differently since being sick?

I have a much greater appreciation for life, a deeper respect for hospital staff, a greater appreciation for my church, and greater faith in the generosity of people. I also tell everyone I know to donate to hospitals, because that money really does go to help people who need it.

5. What's the last movie you saw that you loved?

"Breach", with Ryan Philippe and Chris Cooper, which is the story of Robert Hanssen, an FBI agent who was convicted of selling secrets to the Soviets. That was the last movie Mary and I saw before the stroke. I was also very fond of "Capote" with Philip Seymour Hoffman. That movie should have won the Academy Award; unfortunately, it was up against "Brokeback Mountain". Odd that I seem to like movies based on real life events; I was going to add "The Queen" and "The Bank Job". Come to think of it, the movie out of this list that I saw most recently was "The Bank Job". I'd have to make a list, because I need room for "Stranger Than Fiction", "Words and Music", "The Devil Wears Prada", and "Dumb and Dumber". It's possible that "Get Smart" will be on that list after Friday...
