Time to kill at Sea-Tac

I found a wi-fi connection at the airport, so I've been hanging out, checking the mail and whatever. I have a flight at 10:15 local time, which looks like about two hours from now.

I managed to have a small accident with the rental car this trip. I backed into a wall in one of those Suzuki XL7 things that you see 16 year old boys in baseball caps driving all the time, and managed to crush the rear quarter panel and crack the lens on the tail light. The company has LDW, so I shouldn't have to pay for it. The lady at Avis said that it was the third car she'd checked in with damage. Maybe it's something in the air.

For once, I'd like to go to an airport that didn't have CNN Airport News playing at full blast. CNN's a pretty lousy news outfit to begin with, and they seem obsessed with the election, which isn't for another 8 months and I'm already sick of it.

Which reminds me: I got some interesting spam from Donald Wildmon, who wanted to know whether I was voting for George Bush, John Kerry or Ralph Nader for president. I couldn't in all honesty cast a vote, because, let's face it, they're all pretty lame and I have no intention of voting for any of them. (And, if I find out who put my name on all of these evangelical mailing lists, I'll do to him what Dr. Detroit promised to do to Mom.)

Speaking of politics, I'm still re-reading Parliament of Whores, and enjoying it tremendously. It was written 15 years ago, and is still delightfully apropos. Well worth a read, regardless of your leanings.

Well, my battery's running down slowly but surely. The people from Bose have a kiosk from which they're demonstrating noise cancelling headphones. If they do a good job of killing the noise emitting from the television, I'm buying a set....
