Essentially, he told me that he was going to have someone else give my Wednesday presentation, and asked me for the remainder of the materials that I had printed and created for it. He then told me that I could go home, and that we'd talk more about things when he got home after the conference. I initially considered going to the museum, then decided, no, I probably didn't want to be hanging around, especially when I'd be tempted to have a few beers and tell a few people off.
So, I packed, called the airport, checked out of the hotel and left. I don't want to be where I'm not wanted.
It's interesting that, earlier on Tuesday, I heard a remarkable presentation by Mark Victor Hansen, one of the authors of the Chicken Soup series of books. He said that when confronted with rejection, you should learn one word: NEXT! Sage advice for this time of my life.
I'm now sorry that I let my boss talk me out of quitting back in January.
I'm having a massage this afternoon. That should help.
