I took the night off from working out. My trainer had to go to a meeting, and Mary talked me into staying home and enjoying the evening at home. Now that I think about it, I've been awful sore. I think I need to cut back to three workouts a week, with a couple of cardio days in there. Vaughn (my trainer) and his boss are both telling me that the pain goes away after a while. Hey, Vaughn's in his mid-20s and LaurieAnn is 30. Easy for them to say. I was in no shape to try and work out yesterday, considering that I had slept so poorly the night before. I hope that the residual pain from last night's workout doesn't keep me awake again tonight.

On the contract thing, I have finally reached the point at which, if they don't get me access to their systems soon, I'll just be sitting around and costing them money. I can't put together a class based on what this "training material" is telling me, largely because (a) it contradicts itself constantly and (b) it's not very good. Looks like it's time for me to be the big bad wolf. Upside is, I'm getting REALLY good with Powerpoint and I'm learning all kinds of Internet administration stuff that I wouldn't have bothered with if I hadn't gotten this contract. I finally understand POP3 and SMTP, DNS and I'm getting pretty good with networks and subnets. Not to mention that I've downloaded Red Hat Fedora (the freeware version) and plan on installing it at home if I don't get a system to work with soon. (Word of the Day on memory_muse is "geek"; maybe I should just cross-post this entry.)

Oh, and I'm praying for all of you in the paths of Bonnie and Charlie. There should be a "Prince" in there, shouldn't there?
