On the contract thing, I have finally reached the point at which, if they don't get me access to their systems soon, I'll just be sitting around and costing them money. I can't put together a class based on what this "training material" is telling me, largely because (a) it contradicts itself constantly and (b) it's not very good. Looks like it's time for me to be the big bad wolf. Upside is, I'm getting REALLY good with Powerpoint and I'm learning all kinds of Internet administration stuff that I wouldn't have bothered with if I hadn't gotten this contract. I finally understand POP3 and SMTP, DNS and I'm getting pretty good with networks and subnets. Not to mention that I've downloaded Red Hat Fedora (the freeware version) and plan on installing it at home if I don't get a system to work with soon. (Word of the Day on memory_muse is "geek"; maybe I should just cross-post this entry.)
Oh, and I'm praying for all of you in the paths of Bonnie and Charlie. There should be a "Prince" in there, shouldn't there?
