- At least three of you on my Friends page have made mention of the fact that you are tired of hearing about the upcoming election, that you are tired of hearing about and from the candidates, and, in at least one case, you've already made your mind up, so hearing about it again isn't going to make a damned bit of difference. (And to those who have mentioned these things, I could kiss you.)
- This morning at Mass (yes, I still go to Mass on Sunday, and I am not ashamed to say that I am a practicing Catholic), the pastor (who celebrated the Mass and who has a degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia) publicly declared that he is sick of hearing about the election and that he refuses to watch the news because he is tired of hearing about it.
- This morning's Atlanta Journal and Constitution ran an article this morning (and I don't have a link for it) discussing the upcoming election and the acrimony that's come as a result. Things have apparently gotten so nasty that families are being divided and there are companies that now forbid their employees to discuss it. (I can hear the screams now: FIRST AMENDMENT VIOLATION!!!! Which it isn't, of course.)
I could say more, but I was just curious if any of you found any of this disturbing.
